Flu Vaccinations

We will be running our first flu clinic on 16th October at Sutton Valence Private School, North Street, Sutton Valence ME17 3HL

This will be for over 65’s and for eligible under 65’s and the clinically extremely vulnerable.

We will be inviting those with a mobile phone to book via myGP app.

If you ring the surgery to book, please ring after 3pm as we are receiving unprecedented numbers of calls at present, and this will reduce your waiting time.

Covid Booster vaccinations

We will be inviting eligible patients by text, letter or phone call.

We will be running clinics for those patients due a booster on 6th October, 26th October and 10th November. These will be at Harrietsham Village Hall, Church Road,  Harrietsham ME17 1AP

If you previously had the AZ/Oxford vaccine, receiving Pfizer this time is not an issue. However, if you had the AZ/Oxford vaccine due to concerns about severe allergic reaction then it is important to let us know. We will then organise an alternative vaccination for you.

We have been informed that Church Road in Harrietsham will be closed from Monday 27th of September for up to 3 weeks.

This may affect those attending The Glebe Medical Centre for their booster COVID vaccinations.
We have contacted SGN, who are carrying out the work, and they have provided us with details on the diversion.

We know these works aren't ideal but we have been assured that the diversion will not effect traffic flow too considerably.

Postponement of blood tests

A supplier to the NHS has advised us of a global shortage of some equipment used for taking blood tests.

Anyone who needs a test for urgent health problems, will still get one but where your clinician recommends that it’s safe to do so, then you may be asked to come back for a test at a later date, or your appointment may be rescheduled.

Given the nature of the shortage, we cannot give an exact date for when the test will be rescheduled, but please be assured that if your condition or symptoms require it, then you will get a test, and we will be re-booking your test when supplies become more easily available.

If your condition or symptoms change or get worse, please contact the NHS as you would normally.”

Many thanks for your understanding.

GP Practice Privacy Notice for General Practice Data for Planning and Research

How and why NHS Digital collects, analyses, publishes and shares data collected from GP practices for planning and research.  This Notice also contains information for patients who wish to opt out  -
You may have seen on the news that from Monday 17th May, doors at GP practices are ‘re-opening’. As you will know Sutton Valence Group Practice has been open throughout the pandemic, offering patients telephone, video and face to face consultations for those who need them. This was in-line with national requirements to keep patients safe, whilst COVID infection rates were high and before the vaccination was widespread.
GP practices are now being encouraged to offer patients a choice of whether they would like a remote or face to face consultation. However, before we have more people coming into the surgery to see us in person, we need a bit of time to put in place measures to keep everyone safe. As we wait for further national guidance on doing that, we ask that patients continue to contact us by phone as you have been doing. We are facing unprecedented demands for our services and will need to continue to adjust how we use our clinicians’ time to best support our patients- particularly those who need us the most. Whilst still maintaining social distancing to ensure we keep both patients and staff safe.
We will keep you updated as soon as we are clear about how we can re-open our reception areas safely.
Thank you for your continued support.
Dr Will Mangar and Dr Chris Cranston
