CORONAVIRUS VACCINE

COVID -19 VACCINATION

As per government guidelines the Practice will offer the second vaccination approximately 12 weeks after the first.  If you are booked at Harrietsham surgery to receive your second vaccination please be aware these are now being rearranged so do not turn up for the appointment. You will be contacted. We would be grateful if you would spread this information in the community.

As part of The Ridge PCN which is made up of surgeries from Langley, Lenham, Bearsted, Headcorn and ourselves we are pleased to confirm that a Covid

vaccination centre will be based at HARRIETSHAM surgery and the Covid vaccination programme has now begun.

The vaccine supply is centrally delivered and practices have no control over this.  Things are being changed at very short notice.  Please be aware that you may receive calls from our Primary Care Network to change your appointment.

We are also aware of some scam calls regarding the vaccination programme.  Please remember NHS services are free. At no point will you be asked to pay for the Covid-19 vaccine.

Please do not contact the surgery (Sutton Valence Group Practice) as eligible patients will be contacted according to the priority groups defined by the government.  We are currently contacting patients aged between 75 and 79.  Most of our over 80s have been vaccinated.  There are a few left to do.  Most of these patients are housebound and we will hopefully be doing these in the next couple of weeks.

As you may have seen on the news the Pfizer vaccination has strict storage requirements and they will be given at Harrietsham surgery.

Please see the CCG website for more information:

NHS England have specified groups of patients who will be vaccinated and the order the vaccine will be offered to them.

The vaccine will be offered in age order to:

  those aged over 80 years

  those aged over 75 years

adults on the NHS shielded patient list

  those aged over 65 years

adults under 65 with long term conditions (a full list is available in the national guidance)

those aged 50 - 64 will be offered it later

Please do not contact the surgery to ask about the vaccine until you receive a letter, text or phone call about getting the vaccine.  Our phone lines are very busy and we would appreciate your support in keeping the lines open for those people who need to contact us about other health matters.

The vaccination programme will take several months to work through everyone so it may be some time before you are contacted.

Please visit this page frequently, it will be updated on a regular basis as and when we receive further information.

If you are a health/social care frontline worker and are registered with Sutton Valence Group Practice please email kmccg.suttonvalence@nhs.net with your contact phone number and professional details in preparation for us to be able to offer you the Covid vaccination as soon as possible.
